Orlando, FL – (Dec. 26, 2019) The Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) welcomed DEMA Show 2019, hosted by the Diving Equipment and Marketing Association (DEMA) for the 12th time, from Nov. 13-16, 2019. This leading industry event welcomed almost 10,000 dive and travel professionals, contributing an estimated $25.7 million in economic impact for the Central Florida region this year.
The annual event is recognized as the world’s only international trade-exclusive event for diving, action watersports and travel professionals. Over the course of the week, attendees had the opportunity to connect with more than 600 leading dive equipment manufacturers, travel destinations, apparel wholesalers and service providers, and network with 9,500+ credentialed industry colleagues to learn more about cutting-edge industry developments and innovations.
“Since 1977, DEMA Show has provided the diving industry with invaluable opportunities to come together to do business and collaborate,” stated Tom Ingram, DEMA President & CEO. “The Orange County Convention Center has and continues to provide a wonderful venue for us to host our annual Show and offer our members and industry a productive and enjoyable experience, all in one of the largest diving states in the union.”
Orange County’s senior leadership and Convention Center executives are delighted with DEMA Show’s ongoing success and presence in Orlando. With the event scheduled to return in 2022, DEMA Show continues to contribute significantly to the economic development of the greater Orlando community.
“We have enjoyed a wonderful relationship with DEMA Show for more than 30 years said Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings. “Orange County first welcomed this illustrious event to our region in 1986, and we are excited to continue to host DEMA and their attendees for many years to come.”
First welcomed in 1986, the premier event continues to flourish in the region. The OCCC treasure their relationship with DEMA Show, and look fondly towards the future.
“The OCCC is honored to welcome back DEMA Show,” said David Ingram, the OCCC’s Acting Executive Director. “We have established a phenomenal relationship with this premier diving and travel organization over the last 33 years, and we are excited to continue to thrive and grow together.”
DEMA Show 2019 also featured a silent auction, raising more than $6,000, with all proceeds directly benefitting DEMA’s Disaster Assistance Program, which aims to offer support to the victims of catastrophic storms and other natural disasters.
