Orlando, FL – (Nov. 21, 2019) The Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) received first place honors in the Convention Center Promotion category of the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) Art of the Show 2019 competition.
The convention center’s campaign, titled “Building for the Future,” highlights the OCCC’s North-South Building expansion. The winners were selected for their creative use of several essential marketing elements needed to promote exhibitions and events.
The Convention Way Grand Concourse and the Multipurpose Venue expansion will bring total exhibit space at the OCCC to 2.3 million square feet.
The Multipurpose Venue brings an additional 200,000 square feet of contiguous exhibit space in the South Building. Overall, the South Building will have a total of 675,141 square feet of exhibit space for a grand total of 1.15 million square feet of exhibit space in the North-South Building. The Multipurpose Venue will also incorporate connectivity between the North and South concourses. The Convention Way Grand Concourse expansion includes an additional 60,000 square feet of meeting space and an 80,000-square-foot ballroom along with a new entry to the North-South Building along Convention Way.
“This is an exciting time of growth and innovation at the convention center and that was the focus of this year’s marketing campaign,” said OCCC Deputy Director Yulita Osuba. “This North-South Building expansion sharpens our competitive edge, creates more space and greater flexibility for clients. Additionally, the expansion will assist our team in booking additional conventions and tradeshows in the future.”
The Art of the Show competition recognizes excellence in promotional materials for the exhibitions and events industry in 14 categories of competition, spanning three show sizes. The entries are judged by an independent panel of judges who specialize in marketing, communications and graphic design. Each entry received is scored on a points system based on the criteria for the category in which it entered. The OCCC previously won this award in 2016 and 2017.
